Welcome to the AAP!
The Alumni Admissions Program (AAP) is a worldwide alumni volunteer organization that coordinates and conducts the interview process for first-year and transfer applicants to Georgetown University. Over 5,000 alumni strong, the AAP membership interviews the vast majority of applicants. Members of the AAP may be involved in the admissions effort in a variety of other ways, including attending receptions, college nights and local business meetings.
A Note from Ed Machir, Chair of the AAP Board of Advisors
As the 2012-13 admissions cycle comes to a close, I want to personally thank you for your continued service to Georgetown and specifically to the AAP. Your work of meeting with so many talented students, actively engaging our applicants and personalizing the process led to another year of yielding outstanding students. For many of us, the reason we stay involved with the AAP is because of the students, and we take pride in welcoming our students to the Hoya family.
The Georgetown Admissions Ambassadors Program (GAAP) is an organization of current students who similarly help to introduce and welcome admitted students to the Georgetown community. I’d like to share with you the clip below, in which Matt McDonough (C’13) reflects on the home that he has found in the Hoya family, encapsulating for admitted students what we hope they will also find here on the Hilltop during a GAAP admitted students reception.
