Homeschooled Applicants

Georgetown welcomes applications from homeschooled students. We will review your academic record and non-academic interests within the context of your homeschool curriculum and experience.

  • Please provide our office with detailed information about the academic program(s) that you have pursued through high school. These ideally will include a traditional transcript and course grades, but if this is not available, please provide us with a detailed outline of your high school curriculum. 
  • If you have taken any courses through traditional high schools, online programs, or colleges, please have official transcripts for these courses sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

  • It is most helpful if we are able to hear from multiple voices regarding your academic experiences throughout high school.
  • In many cases, a parent may act as the school counselor for purposes of submitting the Secondary School Report and counselor letter of recommendation. In these cases, it is best if a teacher recommendation(s) can be submitted by teachers from traditional high school or college courses, or any other homeschool teachers that are not your parents. 

  • Homeschooled applicants are required to submit SAT or ACT scores as part of the application process.
  • While not required, any additional standardized testing (such as Advanced Placement examinations) are helpful for the Admissions Committee to review in the case of homeschooled applications.
