Alumni Interview
When will my alumni interview be assigned?
Alumni interviews will begin to be assigned to applicants in September each year.
- For students applying with the Georgetown Application, interviews can be assigned after submission of Part 1 of the Application.
- For students applying with the Common Application, interviews can be assigned after submitting Georgetown’s portion of the Common Application (not including the writing supplement).
Will my interview be in person?
Georgetown alumni interviews can take place both in person and virtually. We have no preference for how the interview takes place, and you can coordinate with your interviewer to find a mutually convenient time and location for your meeting.
What will the interview include?
The interview presents an opportunity for applicants to share their story, expand upon information captured in other portions of the application, and highlight any key information for the Admissions Committee. Topics that may come up include academic interests, extracurricular activities, summer experiences, family background, future plans, and exposure to Georgetown.
How does the interview impact my application?
Following your interview, the alumni interviewer will write a report detailing the contents of your conversation. This report will be included in your application file for review by our Admissions Committee.
