Common Application

We welcome students to apply using either application platform. There is no advantage to students submitting one application over the other and students will submit the same information to our office regardless of which application they choose.

Please do not submit both application forms! If you accidentally submit both applications, please contact our office to correct this issue. 

While there are minor differences between the two applications, the core pieces of each application will be the same. No matter which platform you apply through, we will review the same key materials: your high school transcript and coursework, essay and short-answer prompts, teacher and counselor recommendation letters, extracurricular and community involvement, and standardized test scores.

After adding Georgetown to your schools on the Common Application, you will see two sections: Georgetown Application and the Writing Supplement, which is the Georgetown Supplement. These sections can be submitted separately, but both must be submitted by your selected application deadline.

For students applying through the Common Application, recommendations can be requested through the Common Application platform. Alternatively, school counselors are welcome to submit materials directly to Georgetown through Slate.org or Scoir.
