Visiting Student Program

The Visiting Student Program is meant for non-degree seeking students who wish to take one or two classes at Georgetown. Due to limitations of space, Georgetown is only able to offer admission to a limited number of Visiting Students. Applications must be approved by the Dean of the school in which the student wishes to study. Admission for Visiting Students is for one semester only.

Students who are earning degrees at schools other than Georgetown and who wish to attend Georgetown as Visiting Students must include with their application materials a letter from the current Dean approving the courses to be taken at Georgetown for the degree requirements of their own schools.

Application Procedure

Please complete and submit the online application and send in the required supporting documents by the application deadline. Please note that you will be unable to save your application, and will be required to complete and submit it in one sitting. After submitting your application you will receive a confirmation email and instructions on how to create your application account and access your Application Status Portal. Once established, your application account will allow you to submit your essay (if not submitted already), and request your Dean’s Approval Letter (if currently in college). Please contact our office if you have trouble receiving this email, please do not submit another Georgetown Application.

Special Visiting Student applications are reviewed on an individual basis and therefore an admitted student profile is not available.

Georgetown is not able to provide students visas for Visiting Students.

Checklist and Deadlines

No application will be considered until all of the required credentials have been received. A notice of missing credentials will be mailed, but students should make every effort to ensure that they are submitted on time. A complete application includes the following information:

Completed Application
A Non-refundable Application Fee of $75.00 – payable in USD
High School Transcript
College Transcript
SAT or ACT scores
Dean’s Letter (if you are currently enrolled in a degree-seeking university)

Completed applications must be submitted to the appropriate Dean’s Office by November 15 for admission in January and by July 15 for admission in September. No applications will be accepted after these dates. Final decisions will be made by August 10 for the fall semester and by December 20 for the spring semester.
